STORY

Field-first philosophy

More than trends or theory,
what matters is how the fish actually responded
in real conditions.

We rely only on those moments,
giving form to the answers found at sea.

Why it began

Plastic lures that carried no sense of life
always felt slightly out of place.

Fishing and travel leave memories,
and time itself has weight.
Those things, we felt, could not be carved into plastic.

The marks left through encounters with fish.
Bite scars, cracks, chipped paint.

These traces remain only with wood,
aging together with time.

We want anglers to grow older
alongside their wooden lures,
sharing years of fishing, not just seasons.

Not mass production, not disposable tools.
Even when covered in scars,
something you keep using, never let go of.

We wanted to create tools
that carry memories of fish and travel.

Wooden lures inevitably cost more.

But they should not belong
only to a select few.
We wanted more anglers
to carve their own memories into them.

That was the first step of SkyGrey.
